๐Ÿงต Collection List

The Collection List element in WeWeb is a fake element.

Wait, what??

Well, contrary to Columns or Div blocks, the Collection List is an element that doesnโ€™t really exist in web development.

It's an abstraction element that other no-code tools like Webflow and Bubble created to help users understand that:

  • inside a Collection List (also known as a Repeating Group),
  • you can have Collection List Items (also known as Repeated Items).

What does that mean?

In WeWeb, it means that you can bind data from a Collection to a Collection List.

When you do that, the first child element of that Collection List will repeat as many times on the page as there are Items in the list.

In the Navigator, nothing will change. You will still only see one Collection List and one Repeated Item container. However, on the Canvas, you will see as many items as there are in the Collection you bound to the Collection List.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Pro Tip ๐Ÿ”ฅ

You can bind data from a Collection to any type of container in WeWeb, not just a Collection List Container. You can bind to a Columns or Div block element for example. Just know that the first child element will repeat โ€“ whether itโ€™s a simple heading or a container with a heading, text, and image.
